The Great Subitizing Challenge!

Today we talked about the word ‘subitizing’.

“The term is derived from the Latin adjective subitus (meaning “sudden”) and captures a feeling of immediately knowing how many items lie within the visual scene, when the number of items present falls within the subitizing range.[1]

We will be practicing our subitizing skills for the remainder of the week and having a subitizing speed challenge on Friday!

You can help your child to practice at home by rolling dice, using dominoes, making your own dot cards or by following this link for an online slideshow:
