Mystery Number

Homework Game for Week 5:

Mystery Number is a fun quick game to practice some key math skills.  We play this game just like ’20 questions’.  The person asking the questions can only ask questions that can be answered with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’.  The point of the game is to guess the Mystery Number with as few questions as possible.  Right now we are playing with numbers from 1-100.  But we will soon move onto numbers up to 1000!

Here are some examples of questions you might ask:

Is the number odd/even?

Does the number have a 6 in the tens place?

Is your number greater than 50?

Does the number have 2 digits?

We use Splat Square to record our answers.  Here is a link for you to use at home:

Sum Sense – Math Game for Week 4 Homework

Here is our Math Game for Week 4 (September 26th-30th). Grade 3 students can choose between playing this game or the ‘Place Value Game’ that is in their homework folders. Your goal is to play a Math Game at least 3 days over the week!
